In 1978, Barbara Sallick and her husband, Robert, joined her father's 53-year old, Danbury, Connecticut, plumbing supply business and launched a new kind of American bath company, Waterworks. Using the time-honored European bath experience as a guide, the Sallicks imported and created the finest products available and brought unprecedented performance and style to what had been an overlooked area of the home. With a firm grasp of classical design principles and a passion for exceptional quality and innovation, the Sallicks started a revolution in the style and thoughtful planning of the bath.
Formerly a curator of decorative objects, Barbara Sallick has guided the aesthetics of Waterworks products from the beginning. Rather than nodding to trends, she looks to history for inspiration. The distinctive materials and palettes of furniture, architecture and arts of Edwardian England, 19th century France, and French and American Art Deco - to name a few - have all contributed to Waterworks collections.
Robert Sallick has engineered flawless functionality into each element of the Waterworks bath. Every facet of our products performs perfectly without compromising the integrity of the design. Precision handles, so simple and sensual to the touch, deliver water flawlessly time after time.
Peter Sallick, Barbara and Robert's son, joined Waterworks in 1993 and helped expand the company throughout the 1990's. Today, clients can visit 15 showrooms and find everything from fittings, fixtures and tubs, to tiles, textiles and home furnishings. |
