WATERWORKS LAUNCHES NEW FITTINGS AND SURFACE COLLECTIONS
Henry fittings and Grove Brickworks debut in showrooms nationwide
NEW YORK (June 28, 2010)–Waterworks is pleased to once again set the standard for design leadership with the launch of Henry fittings and Grove Brickworks. Influenced by the connection of industry and art, Henry and Grove easily transition between modern, traditional, utilitarian and classic settings. Individually and together, in the bath, kitchen and beyond, Henry and Grove embody the enduring essence of Waterworks: design, craftsmanship and quality.
The Henry collection, named after the inventor of automobiles Henry Ford, was designed by the Waterworks team with two major influences in mind; the work of Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus school, and the spirit of industrial design before 1940. The 33-piece collection consists of a wide array of fittings such as bathroom and bathtub faucets as well as shower systems. A respect for basic geometric forms and a deliberate attention to austerity in the designs, Henry has clarity as well as direct functionality.
“The emphasis of Henry and Grove Brickworks is straightforward but not over-simplified design. Both collections will be at home in classic or modern settings and are crafted for generations of use,” comments Barbara Sallick, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Waterworks.
Geometric angles and deep curves – including pronounced hexagonal nuts, arched spouts and sleek marble and teak gland cover options – create a fitting with deep modernist origins and character. The fittings come in an assortment of finishes such as nickel and unlacquered brass. As with most Waterworks products, special requests allow for a greater selection of finishings to suit all discerning tastes.
Grove Brickworks is the perfect complement to the Henry collection. The unique glazed brick, transforms the utilitarian building material into a surface with subtle and textural cladding, a reserved palette and understated presence. The inherent pin holes and irregular surfaces of the bricks are enhanced by the application of the glaze. The Grove Brickworks collection is available in 13 colors in a warm palette of grays and blues, both light and dark.
Henry and Grove Brickworks will be available at Waterworks showrooms nationwide in June and online at www.waterworks.com.
