Waterworks Opens Los Angeles Location

DANBURY, CT - Waterworks, the company that has brought fine design, quality and craftsmanship to the American bath experience for the past 30 years, is proud to announce the opening of its new Los Angeles showroom.

Located at 8580 Melrose Avenue, a few blocks from the Pacific Design Center, the two-story, 10,000-square-foot space marks a milestone for this leader in intimate American interiors. The West Hollywood location—a combination of two previous Los Angeles showrooms (formerly at 8715 Melrose Avenue and 109 South Robertson Boulevard)—is the culmination of decades of experience mixed with innovative products and impeccable aesthetics.

The new showroom was conceived as a place where classicism and modernism come together with a new vocabulary. The building's beautiful translucent façade of glass panels explores the ideas of privacy and intimacy, while the interior's light-filled gallery features inspiring installations of extraordinary materials.

"In the past 30 years, our lives have changed dramatically," says Barbara Sallick, co-founder and head of design for the company she established with her husband, Robert, in 1978. "At that time, the bath was a place of privacy and hygiene; today it is a space where architectural details and meticulously layered materials combine to create a bath that is personal, restorative and timeless."

To reflect this evolution, the showroom features conceptual installations that bring a fresh perspective to all manner of materials. A bespoke mosaic at the building's entrance captures the essence of sand, sea and sky in TEMPO glass. Inside, twenty-four panels of AQUALINEA mosaic patterns illustrate the possibilities of classic CARRARA marble, while brilliant grids of optic glass tile reveal the modernist roots of the KROMAGLAS collection. A wall of three-dimensional ARCHITECTONICS tiles is a whimsical homage to the sculptures of Louise Nevelson. Even more inspiration lies underfoot in various compositions of honed DANBY marble and in a breathtaking floral stone mosaic rug.

Unique installations of fittings and fixtures further reveal the depth and diversity of
Waterworks' offerings, including eight working sinks with fittings in made-to-order finishes (featuring the debut of the French-inspired transitional fitting, OLYMPIA). The finest roducts and materials come together in a luxurious and sophisticated bath niche—creating an ultimate Waterworks experience. An extensive surface sample archive as well as a spacious workroom for consultants and clients occupies the second floor.
